Shall we meet up again this year. Over the past two years we have met on the last Sunday in July at Burton Dassett Country Park. If this was still OK that would be the 25 July. The reason for its choice has been its central location for those from the north and south. Nicola also asked for thoughts about a meet near Exeter (Exeter race course is a good location both for caravans and other places to stay). Any thoughts folks?
Dates and venues subject to the most popular choice and people available, so have your say - as well as suggest somewhere else you might favour. |

We are pretty easy with dates as now retired! (Although if a Dulux job comes up for Spud he has to work)! Burton Dassett Country Park was easy for us last year. But we still had 3 hours travelling coming from Kent. I would need to know the date asp as I have other dogs at home to be looked after and require a dog sitter to come in. If held in Devon we would need to stay overnight and book our dog sitter well in advance. I think this might be difficult at the end of July as this is his very busy period. Look forward to hearing others comments.
We really enjoyed meeting everyone last year and look forward to seeing all the dogs again. |

Wow, wow, wow! Stop and think! Serra's are portuguese dogs, right? So the best place for the serraton is obviously Portugal. Peniche, preferentialy. |

Ha Ha Ha............You are right Daisy would love to go to Portugal but has no Pet Passport As it takes months to get and is costly I don't think this is on Nice thought!
I would love the Serrathon to be held in our Village Hall, it's quite cheap to hire but as most Serra owners in the UK are spread far and wide this is not going to happen.
All we need now is Danni to say come to Florida..................... Or, France, Poland and Germany So it does look like it could be Burton Dassett Country Park - just have to imagine we are in Portugal. |

I suppose we could give it a Portuguese theme - flags, food, music ? even costumes? |

I have it in my diary usual place same time. We haven't heard from many others although that was so last year and virtually everyone came. Do let us know - it's really helpful. My only other thought was that if only those from the south had replied we might find somewhere closer to us - but hopefully others will commit soon - please |

NFC : Means (Not for Competition). As the Serra's are not registered in this country some Canine Societies allow you to take the dog in at a fee. I did notice that Bakewell Show is not charging but you do have to enter by form this closed on 2nd July. But I think you can take dogs into the normal Agricultural part and I'm sure no one would take any notice of one walking around the Dog Show section. We are taking all three dogs. I've only entered Spud not showing my Samoyed and Daisy is coming for the ride. We are staying around that area for a couple of days. The date of the show is Thursday 5th August (Non Sporting day). Judging commences at 10.00 a.m. We would love to meet up with Nico . |

Just a reminder that the Serrathon 2010 goes ahead this Sunday 25 July at 12 noon. The weather forecast is for a hot weekend. I am looking forward to seeing you. If you haven't let me know that you are coming and you plan to, it would help me if you would, thanks. Best wishes, Pauline |

I'm very sorry to be missing the Serrathon this year - we're busy getting a holiday home in the Lake District ready to rent out.
I am meeting up with Gina and Peter et al, and hopefully Steve and Nico, at the Bakewell show in August. This did make me wonder whether holding the Serrathon in conjunction with a similar show might be a thought for next year - good publicity for the breed.
Hope you all have a lovely time on Sunday and the weather is not to hot (and not too cold!). |

Looking forward to the Serrathon tomorrow. Packing the picnic
Getting Daisy ready today she has already rolled in something nasty
Of course, Spud & Floosie are beyond all that...............................
Let's hope they will be on their very best behaviour tomorrow What with one English boy from Suffolk and a girl from Siberia quote an international affair and of course the Briards from France
Hopefully meeting up again with Louise and Charlie Brown plus Steve & Nico at Bakewell in August. Lets hope the sunshines in Derbyshire. |

We made it home (in total nearly 300 miles)
Spud really enjoyed his day out (as a celebrity he was not working today but carried on regardless)! . Floosie with her fear of spaces! Well she made it Just - happy to be home!
And well Daisy, is crashed out on the sofa tired out but it was her yearly outing meeting up with her cousins................... It's so lovely to have her sleeping and quiet
Thank you Pauline. Lets hope we can meet up again next year and hopefully with some more Serra's. A lovely day out |

Look how dry the landscape is - is this Portugal or England?
Spud and Daisy loved their shelter to keep the sun off

Only 5 present this year but the breed is still in it's early stages in the UK and we are well spread out over the country plus it is holiday season.
Let's hope we can get more to come next year. All the dogs were very well behaved on the day
We hope to meet up with Charlie Brown and Nico in a couple of weeks time. |
