In a UK National newspaper this weekend there was a short feature:
'A new Do-It-Yourself cheek-swab DNA tests allows you to determine the pedigree of your mixed-breed mutt. Send the swab to the laboratory and a few weeks later you'll be emailed results that say which of the 150 breeds have contributed to your dog's genetic make-up. The test costs 59.99 and is available online at wisdompanel.co.uk '

The serra is an old breed and not known in the UK so wouldn't qualify but the British Kennel Club requires DNA testing of some breeds to ensure the parents are those on the puppies' pedigrees that are being registered and vice versa. This is to discourage close in breeding for one thing. Anyone had their dogs DNA tested? Question
