Finn and Nespa are contentedly sleeping this afternoon. The weather is foul today. They have however, enjoyed the snow this winter. They get really excited chasing one another. Finn usually chases Nespa who deploys a clever trick when he's about to catch her - she rolls over so that he has to jump over her. She then quickly gets up and dashes off in another direction. A local farmer has ploughed fields where we usually walk. Up until now they've been able to run over them without getting muddy. Not so last time - with the field ploughed the soil really stuck on Nespa's paws. The soil's is quite chalky which can dry like cement. It took me a while to clean her off. Finn doesn't have this problem his paws don't collect mud as much. His coat it much easier to manage, thank goodness. Nespa's due to have her annual check up soon plus her rabies booster. Both dogs are vaccinated, boosters are only given every 3 years. We won't be abroad this summer though as we're having work done on our house. That will be a test of their patience as well as mine.
