After many years I finally persuaded my wife - a new serra is coming! Broinha da serra dos pastores will be arriving in London, with almost 5 months in late August!!!

Wow this is good news! Do you guys live in the London area? All best wishes for collecting her. I remeber well collecting Finn and Nespa when the each arrived at Heathrow. Laughing Laughing Is this your little one?

What is the best and most economical way of getting her here? Is it worth for me to go to Portugal? Or can I ask someone to take her to the airport?

Andrew have you checked the DEFRA website for regulations on the import of dogs Question I haven't checked recently but when Nespa came from Portugal, they could only be brought in by approved carriers and airlines. The carrier will collect from the breeder and take the dog to the airport. Travelling crates have to meet approved sizes. All paperwork must be correct and tick treatment within the active time frame. Others have brought their dogs in overland by registered people. Nicola Pearce has used that method. Louise Papworth and her husband drove down into France for theirs. You obviously want the best care for your young dog, it can be a stressful experience. Have you also registered on Portuguese Sheepdog Cao da Serra de Aires Group on Facebook? There's lots of links and activity there. Smile

And it's now only 6 days left before her arrival. Excited is an understatement. I will be reaching out to you guys for advice and will be happy to meet occasionally - she will thorough miss her 5 strong pack in Portugal and will need to see some Serra's every now and then...other dogs do not play like that![/img]
